We wanted to share a little post with you all about one of the best little pizzas we have eaten so far. (No – it was not in Pisa (and Pizza did not originate there either), it was the highway leaving Bellagio and heading to Verona). It was a rainy day and we spotted a little Pizza place off the highway.
We went in and saw that it was a mother-daughter team that ran the spot and of course being a mother-daughter team ourselves engaged in conversation as best as we could in our attempts to speaking Italian and them English. They were very kind and helpful with questions we had and we ordered a simple thinly sliced eggplant, zucchini and red pepper and tomato sauce pizza to share. We were not disappointed as it has a crispy thin crust and perfect flavoring on the top. The spot is called Mokita Pizzeria e Kebab and if you happen to be driving by, be sure to stop in for a pizza.
This was our first pizza place and it was not until ordering pizza again in a couple other spots that ‘Not all Pizza’s are created equally’ and this has been our best one so far. Speaking of Pizza….or Pisa….
Pisa is a must see IF you want to get this photo! There is very little to see in Pisa other than the leaning tower and buildings beside it, which are stunning! We were glad to be here in the off season as it was very crowded even now in mid October and hard to get your turn to ‘hold up the building shot’. You could not help but chuckle at the hundreds of people taking this pose.
We had a plate of spaghetti in one of the local restaurants on site. There are so many vendors selling trinkets and items for the tourists to take home.
