The winding East side road of the South Okanagan Valley is a treat each time I drive it, and I have lived her for 33 years! On a Sunday afternoon drive out to visit Grandma and Grandpa, we like to stop at local farmers to pick up fresh produce. Check them out here to find out hours and events, since they are not open year round : http://www.mathesoncreekfarm.ca/
We were greeted by full bloom sunflowers basking in the rays of a mid day sun. A treat for the senses and a reminder to stop and smell the flowers.
How can you resist fat fresh blackberries to chomp down or make into a delicious pie or jam?
For $19 dollars we were able to buy:
- 8 corn cobs
- 1 small tray blackberries
- 3 bunches of grapes
- 4 nectarines
- 2 peaches
- 1 sweet onion
And if you have the time (make it!) you can sit in their lovely bistro chairs and enjoy the view of Skaha lake below.
Welcome. We hope you enjoy our posts!
